Bill Ressl, Pastor (aka The Rev. William G. Ressl, MDiv, MSW, LCSW) Bill is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ serving a local church, Trinity Community Church, UCC, as Co-Pastor together with his wife the Rev. Penny Taylor. Bill’s canon which informs his ministry as a Pastor and working theologian as well as his life overall is founded upon his context and experience. The methodology can best be described as a weaving together of Paul Tillich’s theology, Bowen Family Systems Theory, and a strong desire for liberative social justice. Recognizing the multidimensionality of God and the uniqueness of grace within all of existence Bill strives through his ministerial and pastoral practice to bring alive the gifts God has gathered in this unique moment, in this here and now - in particular within the body of Christ known as the church he serves, Trinity Community Church, UCC in Berwyn, Illinois. Additionally, Bill strives, through his theological studies as well as his other endeavors, to encourage all to accept, embrace, and live life through the lens of Christ’s message of love. As such he encourages, as he works hard to do, to be open to the work of the Spirit that touches and embraces each of our lives in extremely unique ways - and then have the courage to define one’s own understanding of faith and be challenged to live it within community, always open to the newness of life that the Spirit encourages. |
